JVS Encoder Board Connectors
There are a lot of JVS encoder boards out there, but many of them share similar connectors and pinouts.

Sega JVS Encoder 837-13551
This board is the standard encoder for the Naomi Universal Cabinet, and probably others as well. It has analogue and digital inputs, +5V and +12V input/outputs and JVS in and out via the USB-A and USB-B connectors.

Sega JVS JAMMA Decoder 838-13683
This board is designed to allow the use of JVS game systems (Naomi, Tri-Force etc) in JAMMA cabinets. It converts the JAMMA digital (and analogue) control panel and cabinet signals to JVS serial data, and converts the VGA-level video to JAMMA levels for the JAMMA monitor. It also includes an in/out connector for cabinets with more than three buttons per player, or for use with digital marquees on cabinets like the VS City.

This connector is used on several Sega JVS boards. It's a JST RA-series IDC connector with one guide groove.

Analogue Inputs
26-Pin Analogue Connector
This connector handles the analogue inputs for JVS game systems. There are eight analogue channels, labeled AD0-AD7. It's a JST RA-series IDC connector.

Output Connectors
20-pin Output Connector
Sega's 837-14572 board has a 20-pin connector for output signals, often used to activate lights. Outputs 1-6 are available on the 60-pin connector, but 7-20 are only available on this 20-pin connector. It's a JST RA-series IDC connector.

Power Connectors
The 837-13551 and 837-14572 encoder boards both have a pair of 5V and 12V output connectors. Both connectors can be used for power input or output, so when providing +5V for the board to function, either connector can be used, and the other can provide power to downstream devices.
Both connectors are JST NH-series, the same as normally used for joysticks.

14 Pin I/O Connector
This connector can be set to either input (for additional buttons) or output (for digital marquees on cabs like the VS City) by changing the jumper marked JP1 to A (input) or B (output).
This is a JST NH-series 14-pin connector.

JVS Connectors
JVS uses RS-485 serial signals using USB connectors. It is not USB compatible.
“The JVS I/O physical layer uses RS-485 standard for serial transmission. The physical connection uses USBA and USB-B connectors. The protocol is half-duplex multi-point, so all DATA lines are shared. The Sense line is point-to-point between adjacent nodes, and pull-down. Each device which supports daisy-chaining will have two JVS I/O ports, with the outgoing port being a USB-A connector, and the incoming port being a USB-B connector. The master node will thus only have a USB-A connector, and a slave node without daisy chaining will only have a USB-B connector.” According to the JAMMA Video Standard (JVS) Third Edition by Alex -trap15- Marshall.
